Round Table: Motherhood in Literature

The roundtable meeting is aimed at approaching literature in general and children’s literature in particular in regards to the concept of motherhood and will be centred on how the character of “mother” and maternal conditions are handled in writing. We want to ask whether motherhood is self-choice, and approach such ideas as the overplayed maternal-sacrifice relationship, the role of single mothers and the particularly and individuality of mother child relationships.
